St. Croix Valley CSA is made up of small Amish family farms, nestled within a quiet community near Baldwin, Wisconsin. Working harmoniously with nature, we value organic and restorative agricultural practices ensuring our farming ways are pure and simple.
All members will receive fresh, organic, seasonal produce that is carefully selected, direct from our farms, often harvested just before delivery, ensuring high quality and nutritional value. Each box will also contain a freshly baked item straight from our ovens.
Our eggs come from hens raised in a natural environment, allowing them to free-range, forage for their food, and engage in natural behaviors. We proudly support sustainable and ethical farming practices, prioritizing in the well-being of both our hens and consumers.
CSA stand for Community Supported Agriculture.
CSA programs connect farmers and local consumers directly. Instead of farmers selling their product to companies or stores, customers within the farm's community, pay in advance to receive a share of the coming harvest's crop.
Here’s how it generally works. A farm offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a “membership” ). In return, members receive a CSA box of seasonal produce each week throughout that particular farming season. We offer 3 different box sizes to accommodate varying family sizes or individual needs. While the box contains the harvest produce from that week, our CSA boxes usually will include a baked good from straight from our ovens. The member then picks up a box of produce at their drop site location of choice, weekly during the harvest season.
This share option is popular for couples and families that eat vegetables most days. Approximately 9-12 varieties of homegrown produce per box.
This share option is popular for couples and families that eat vegetable often but not everyday. Less quantity and variety than 3/4 bushel share.
This share option is popular for a single person or couple. Contains same variety as 1/2 bushel share but less quantity.
A newsletter will be emailed the same day as your delivery with a description of what's in your box and recipe suggestions. The share typically includes a variety of meal vegetables, root vegetables, greens, alliums, herbs, and a freshly baked item right from our ovens.
